This policy explains what replymaxx ("we," "us") does and doesn't do with your information. replymaxx is intended for people 17 and older. By using the app you agree to this policy. The short version: we built replymaxx to need as little of your data as possible — there are no accounts, we don't know who you are, and we don't keep your conversations.
No accounts, no identity
replymaxx has no sign-up and no sign-in. There's no name, email, phone number, or profile to give us. We don't run a user database and we have no way to identify you personally. Because there's no account, there's nothing for someone else to log into, and nothing that ties your reads to you as a person.
What we don't collect
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, health data, browsing history, or any advertising identifier (we don't use the IDFA). We don't ask for permissions we don't need.
Your screenshots and conversations
When you add a screenshot for nadia to read, that image — a photo you choose to share — is sent once, over an encrypted connection, to our server and on to a third-party AI provider (see the next section) for one-time analysis: rebuilding the conversation, reading the subtext, and generating your reply options.
We do not store your screenshots or their contents on our servers. They're processed to produce your result and not retained by us — the only thing our server keeps is an anonymous count of how many reads a device has used (see "Anonymous device ID"). A screenshot can contain another person's messages, name, or photo; only add conversations you have the right to share.
The AI providers that process your screenshot
To generate a read, your screenshot and the rebuilt conversation are sent to OpenRouter, an AI routing service, which passes the request to an underlying large-language-model provider (such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google — the specific model can change over time). This processing exists solely to produce your result and is governed by those providers' own privacy terms. We do not authorize your content to be used to train AI models where that control is available to us, and we never sell your content or share it for anyone else's independent purposes. Apple requires us to tell you clearly that your content is shared with a third-party AI service to make the app work — that's what this section is for.
Anonymous device ID
To enforce the free tier and prevent abuse, we count usage against a random identifier generated on your device — not your name, email, Apple ID, or anything that identifies you. It exists purely to count reads (there's a per-device daily ceiling of 200 requests to stop scripted abuse) and isn't linked to your identity, sold, or used for advertising or cross-app tracking. Delete and reinstall the app and it resets.
Subscriptions and payments
Purchases are processed by Apple through your App Store account — we never see or store your payment details. We use Superwall to display the paywall and manage your subscription entitlement; per Apple's and Superwall's SDKs this involves sharing your purchase status and a device identifier with them to keep your access working correctly. We don't use this for advertising and we don't do cross-app tracking.
The services we rely on
replymaxx is a small app built on a few third parties, each covered by its own privacy commitments:
- Apple — billing and subscription processing (policy).
- Superwall — paywall and entitlement management (policy).
- OpenRouter — routes the read request to the AI model (policy).
- Convex — our backend that relays requests and holds our API keys server-side (policy).
These providers are bound to protect the limited data they handle to a standard comparable to this policy.
We don't track you
We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites, we do not use the App Tracking Transparency framework (because we don't track), and we show no ads. There's no advertising identifier involved anywhere in replymaxx.
The data we collect, at a glance
For App Store purposes, the only data types associated with replymaxx are — and each is not linked to your identity and not used to track you:
- Photos or Videos — the screenshot you choose to submit, used only to generate your read and not retained by us.
- Purchase History — your subscription status, used to unlock what you paid for.
- Device ID — the anonymous per-device identifier used to count free reads.
Keeping and deleting your data
There's no account to delete and nothing about your conversations stored on our end to delete — we didn't keep your screenshots or reads in the first place. Deleting the app removes everything that lives on your device, including the anonymous device ID and any local history. If you'd like to make a data request anyway, email us and we'll help.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, to protect the limited data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure, but because we retain so little there is very little to expose.
Children
replymaxx is rated 17+ and is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA/UK). We don't knowingly collect information from children; if we learn we have, we'll delete it.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
The only personal information category replymaxx collects is an anonymous device identifier. We do not sell or share your personal information, and we don't use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to know what we collect, to request deletion, and not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights — email us to make a request.
Europe and the UK (GDPR)
If you're in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland: our legal basis for processing your screenshot is performing the service you request; our basis for the anonymous usage count is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse. You have the right to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your data. Because replymaxx holds no account and retains no conversation content, most requests are satisfied simply by deleting the app; for anything else, contact us and we'll act on it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
